Summer is here, the days are now much longer and much warmer. The Summer sun is fierce so sunscreen is the order of the day ...unless you enjoy the shade of the big garden umbrellas or the orange tree in our back garden.
The Villa garden was spectacular over the Spring with the front verandas covered with scented roses. Now Summer has arrived the rest of the roses are all out in bloom, the lavender has taken over the front fence along Auckland Street, even the lawns are green.
We have had quite alot of rain at night and Picton, really all of Marlborough, is lovely and green and everything is growing like crazy.
Marlborough has more than 60% of New Zealand's grape crop, so the vineyards are very green with all the grapes in leaf, Picton doesn't have grapes, just lush natural bush with beautiful tree ferns
