Goodbye to the coldest October in 65years!
12 June 2010
Spring came early, at the end of August. All the green leaves came out and the blossoms flowered....and little lambs everywhere.
September was great, some bad weather , but lots of sunshine too. THEN...came October, the month started off with the heaviest snowfalls in 25 years, roads closed, and most of us retreating to our nice, warm beds. The TV news tonite told us that it had been the coldest October for 65 years ...so much for 'Global warming' down here.
November is here at last and the weather is glorious, the Villa gardens are in full bloom, the umbrellas are up to give some shade as there is some real heat in the sun now.
Picton is starting to bustle with visitors and the waterfront cafes are alive with great food and coffee...and great live music at Le Cafe and the Irish, Seamus's, around the corner.
Picton harbour was full of dolphins this afternoon, the passengers going out to The Queen Charlotte Track on Cougar Line got a real treat as they cruised out past all the little sailboats.
The Villa staff have worked really hard all Winter painting, cleaning and redoing all that was necessary to make our place as good as can be for the new season....come and enjoy it with us.
